Jason to the rescue....

It's amazing to think that while some of us go about our week with seemingly mundane tasks to complete, there are those amongst us who are called to save lives, and in this case it was Jason (Kirsty's hubby) who was called out last night on behalf of the airforce base, to rescue about 50 people from the building on fire in Durban central, airlifting them via helicopter, to the beach where medics were there to attend to their needs. Fortunately there were no serious injuries, but speaking to Jason, he admitted that it was quite frightening, hovering above the building, wondering if it would collapse at all which with the strong winds, and flying at night, made flying a bit more treacherous. He did a good job though, albeit that he only got home at 1am this morning, but he was glad he could help. Fortunately the fire although serious, did not get out of control. Sadly the fires in the midlands have been very devastating, with 8 horses having died and houses burnt down, made worse by the winds. And now, watching the weather report, it's anticipated that we could have snow on the berg, with cold and wet weather expected. It's very unusual for Durban in winter, but so much has changed in terms of weather patterns.

Mark's just reminded me that prison break is about to start so I must go, but I'll blog again soon.

Keep warm!
