Happy 2nd Birthday Jordy!

Some party pics...

And the Hedgehogs playing happily

Well, our little boy is now 2 and we cannot believe how time has flown. It still seems like yesterday that he was born and we were bringing him home from the hospital. Time flies! Jordy has really been such a wonderful child on the whole, and while he does have his moments that make us remember it’s the age and stage of the terrible two’s, we’ve been blessed with a content, albeit very busy, little boy.

Jordy’s birthday was on 20 Feb, but we had a party yesterday, friday 22nd, at home and I think much fun was had by all. We gave Jordy a slip ‘n slide for his birthday, amongst other things, and it was such a hit at the party, since it was another hot day, and the kids loved playing and sliding on the slide. I made Jordy a lion cake, since the theme was safari, but in retrospect, I think the kids may have even been to young to appreciate it all, but it was none-the-less fun making and icing the cake and doing the other bits and pieces. Jordy got some lovely gifts, so now it’s a case of tidying his room and putting away old toys to make space for the new. Yes, mom is being kept very busy as always.

Needless to say, I’m relieved I don’t need to do any more baking in a hurry... these last 2 days in the kitchen baking, has found me somewhat exhausted, but it was all worth it!

Today we went to the Cygnet Hedghog’s parents and kids get-together morning at the school where Jordy attends, which was fun - even more so for Jordy who got to play on all the exciting jungle gyms with his friend Micah. Mom and Dad were given the task of making an object from empty boxes, toilet rolls, sticky tape etc which was part of the mom’s and dad’s teambuilding exercise. Need I say my friend Tanya and I were left building the craft, and the hubbies enjoyed sitting on the side having tea and cake. We had fun though and were quite successful in making a floating vessel (a.k.a. boat) but we didn’t attempt to try and float it. So, all in all it’s been a busy time so we’re only to glad to have time to ‘breathe’ for 2 hours while Jordy sleeps, before we’re off and out again to fetch Mark’s mom to take her out. She leaves to go back to the UK tomorrow so we’re taking her for an early dinner and then will see what tomorrow brings, when it arrives.

There’s otherwise no other news but we will blog again soon.

Take Care
