Hey Everyone
Just a quick note to say hi and to let you know we're home safely after our holiday. We had a great time, albeit that we only had 3 'dry' days with a little sun and blue skies, but we half expected that it would rain most of the time?! Still, we were fortunate to not be affected by the flash floods that left many homeless so can't really complain. I think we get so spoilt by the great weather in SA, it's only natural to make the comparison. Forgive us!
It was lovely to see those of you in the UK that went out of your way to make time to see us - sorry so brief but never-the-less lovely to catch up again!
We got home today at 2ish and have been unpacking and piling the laundry baskets with dirty clothes for a few big loads tomorrow. I can't wait.... NOT! I just didn't feel like the onslaught of doing it today, feeling rather exhausted and all. As can be expected Mark and I didn't get much sleep on the flight, but Jordy fortunately managed to get some decent sleep so at least he wasn't totally miz when we got home. Infact, he was delighted to be home and to see the cats too, as well as being able to play with his toys. Now we are all soon going to hit the sack and hopefully feel more 'alive' tomorrow. It's back to work for me, and to toptots class for Jordy tomorrow afternoon - nothing like getting straight back into the swing of things, but it's inevitable and not all bad. I just need to tackle the many email enquiries from clients while we've been away (sigh!) .... but tomorrow is another day.
I must dash but I will send some pics from our holiday, and tell you a little more about our trip, in the next day or two.
Watch this space for more soon!

Greetings from London
Hi Everyone. Just a quick hello. Came to check email and thought I'd post an entry to say hi. All is well here... the weather's not been too bad but we're making the most of our holiday regardless.
We had a good flight over - with Jordy sleeping 8 hours on the jhb to london flight, which was good. We were very lucky to be given 4 seats between us, so while Mark and I didn't get much sleep, at least Jordy did and wasn't ratty when we landed in england. To add to that, when we came through immigration, Jordy and I were fast-tracked through because he was a child in a stroller so that was great as we only waited 5 minutes in the queue which was a blessing as we'd have had to wait over an hour if we'd stood in the usual queue. We've had a fairly relaxed few days and have been staying with Mark's mom in pinner. We took Jordy to legoland yesterday which he enjoyed, but unfortunately he is too small still to go on most of the rides, but when we come back in 5 years or so, we'll go back and he'll be able to appreciate it more... as will his brother/sister by then. We've done a bit of shopping, but have not gone broke yet - it's just too expensive to go crazy. tomorrow we're meeting friends who live in london, in hyde park so are looking forward to that. On sunday we leave to go to shrewsbury til wednesday, as we're going to spend time with Mark's brother Grant, and family for a few days. We then head back to london to do washing etc for a day, before heading down to Southampton for a family wedding and then up to Needingworth to stay with Grant and family who live there before coming back to SA. So, all in all, we're having a good time. It took me a few days to unwind, after being so busy with work, but am now feeling more relaxed. Sorry I can't send a general email to all.... got to dash as we're meeting friends of Mark's tonight for snacks. Speak/see you soon! Have a great weekend!

Here's to you, Mary-Anne

Brenda, Tracey and I decided to surprise Mary-Anne and have a pamper party for her when she and Brad came down for his bull's party last weekend, since we won't be able to go up to Joburg for Mary-Anne's hens party in August. Much fun and many laughs were had by all. Brad's sisters - Brenda and Tracey, as well as Brad's mom Maureen and his gran, my mom and Maureen's friend, came around to share in the festivities. We then went out for dinner - just the girls, which was really nice while the boys were having a good time elsewhere.
I think we could safely say that Mary-Anne blushed a few times while opening her gifts. Let's just say that Mary-Anne has lots of lovely lingerie for her honeymoon. You're just going to have to wait a little longer Brad! These are a few pics from the pamper party. Sorry Mary-Anne.... they are too good not to be posted on the blog!
