Congratulations to...

Kate & Lance on the birth of your little boy Luke, born on 18 May in Sydney, Australia. Also.... Carol, Geoff & James on the birth of your second son Daniel, brother to James, born on 21 May. Tamryn & Andrew had a little girl on 29 May and her name is Mikaela. We hope you are all well and are not feeling too sleep deprived and that the prospect of parenthood isn't too daunting for those new parents. The first 6 weeks are the hardest, but it gets easier thereafter... am sure you've heard this from other friends with kids/babies?! It's really all worth it... even when you are having a bad day.

Carol, it was great to see you and meet Daniel. I hope you are soon feeling better and stronger. Enjoy this time with Geoff at home!

Tam... hope we'll see you soon and meet your little darling. We'll be in touch soon to find out when it suits you for us to come and visit. Hope you get over your flu and bad cough Tam!

Kate... I wish you were closer... I miss you and I'd love to meet Luke, but hopefully we'll see you later this year if you come and visit. Please keep sending pics and news - we'd love to see your little cherub!

Tonya.... sorry we've not chatted for a while. Just been a crazy time with work being so busy and being away for a week too.
I really want to meet little Luke... hopefully next week! Will be in touch!

I will post an entry again soon! Just wanted to share the excitement of the three new arrivals. Moms - love and cherish them because time goes so quickly! I just wish we could stop time because we are just loving every minute with Jordy! Not quite ready for baby number two, but warming to the idea.

Take Care

Jordy's First Bush Holiday

Some of you may know that we took Jordy to the bush for the first time a few weeks ago, and he just loved it! He noticed all the animals and pointed vehemently at the giraffe and zebbies especially, though he did also quite like the warthogs and impala. Despite spending 4-5 hours in the park at a time, Jordy was very good and when he was tired, he slept on the back seat. We would never normally do so, but we took his car seat out and put it in the boot, so he had the back seat to play on. I sat with him at the back to stop him falling and hurting himself, though at the speed we travelled - 30km/h, it was almost stalling speed so there were no concerns.

We only went away for one week, but we stayed at Ngwenya for 5 days - just the 3 of us which was nice, and Marloth Park for the weekend - with Brad & Mary-Anne (good friends of ours from Jhb) which we enjoyed. We made several visits to the Kruger Park, since we were just 10km from Crocodile Bridge gate, and we enjoyed every visit. On one visit, with Mary-Anne & Brad, we met up with Wendy & Brad, and Indigo (their 3 month old daughter) for a brunch cook-up at a picnic site in the park which was really nice. It was good to be together again since we don't often see our friends from Joburg.

We were lucky with sightings... we saw the big 5, and lots of antelope, zebbies, giraffe etc so were very lucky! There were not many birds to spot, but being the time of year, we couldn't have expected to find many. The weather was great - lovely warm days with the evenings quite fresh. There was not a mozzie to be seen... just the usual bugs one finds in the bush. Fortunately there were no snakes either!

Before we knew it though, we were on our way home. Mark drove home on his own, as he did driving to Mpumalanga, while Jordy and I were treated to a flight which we really enjoyed and at least it cut down a lot on travelling time. It's not something we can get used to though, so really enjoyed the experience. Feeling rested, we were still sad to leave as we had such a great time and felt it could have been longer. Next time we'll go for 10-14 days... whenever that may be?!

Now it's back to life as we know it, and back to the grindstone as I am being kept very busy with lots of big wedding orders, which without sounding like I'm complaining, becomes a bit tedious when every order is over 100 invites and I have a few each week. My hands feel tired and achy by the end of the week from the constant cutting and folding of invites, but it's the path I chose to pursue so I won't complain. I just can't wait to have the time to complete my website which will make life easier for me to some degree... this seemingly unnecessary admin and having to work on quotes all the time, makes for a sore head but that should change soon I hope... hopefully by mid/end June the website will all be ready?! Let's hope!

Well, I must dash... got to go and do some dinner for Mark and I.

P.S. The pics on the blog are from our holiday but you probably guessed that already?!
